Dinner Guest
Note to self: always call and double check with the parents after you've invited a neighborhood child for dinner. Yes, they might have left for a while "to check with Mom" but when they return and enthusiastically inform you that it's fine, it's entirely possible that their parents don't actually know anything about it.

jonny used to do that to us with the meneguessos although generally nilda would invite him over to eat. and invariably if they asked him what he wanted to eat he'd always say "ice cream". and considering he was in love with dorley he always delighted in invites either real or imagined. good thing was they delighted in his conversations and nilda loved it every time he came whether it was a self-invite or not. so the moral of all of this heather is that at least your guest's desire to be there is an endorsement of either your good food or good company heather.
